TOTO: Could you please tell us about Le Méridien Bangkok?

Mr. Dieter: We are now in a phase after the renovation to build up the business as of course change from the last 8 – 12 months for a domestic-centric business to open again. And we are welcoming international travelers from aboard to grow the occupancy significantly and bring it back hopefully very soon to the business level of 2019.

TOTO: What are the criteria for choosing products for your projects?

Mr. Dieter: We’re very lucky that the Le Méridien Bangkok for many years has used TOTO appliances throughout the hotel. Since the original grand opening 13 years ago, many of our appliances have come from TOTO. We believe in a business strong partnership. In addition, our procurement team is very quality focused. And the latest product, which was presented to us, meets all the needs we have. That’s the reason why we selected TOTO again.

TOTO: Could you please share with us your impression about TOTO WASHLET?

Mr. Dieter: We have a lot of bathrooms, and many pieces from TOTO. But TOTO products, which stand out from all appliances, are TOTO WASHLET. As of 2022, all of our rooms are equipped with TOTO WASHLET. I have tried TOTO WASHLET by myself. Its simplicity of use makes it very comfortable. The hygiene purpose behind the product, I think it is a fantastic addition for any 5-star hotels. I think that you have the opportunity to regulate the strength of the spray, it’s something which is remarkable. And with new equipment being developed, consumption is a lot less than before and being so sustainable.

TOTO: In your point of view, how important is the bathroom to the guest rooms?

Mr. Dieter: The bathroom is a very important part. You want to make sure that you have enough space. It’s a very personal private area. So, having appliances that reflect a very clean and sanitary environment, it’s very critical in any kind of bathroom.

TOTO: How about feedback from customers?

Mr. Dieter: We have many Japanese clients and they’re worried about the TOTO brand and appliances. It’s actually necessary to have that when they stay with us. So, now 100% of our rooms are equipped with TOTO WASHLET. We can cater to all the needs of our guests.

TOTO: What would you like to say to TOTO?

Mr. Dieter: We would like to thank them for the business partnership all the past 13 years of training and everything which comes with hardware. It’s very important to make sure that the hardware also lasts for many years. And now adding the new model works flawlessly. And that also stands for a very good quality product.
