Interview

TOTO: Could you please tell us about your business?

Khun Parinya:	My name is ‘Tum.’
Khun Mariko:	I’m ‘Mariko.’
Khun Parinya:	We now open a restaurant located in Soi Sukhumvit 49. It’s a fusion-style Japanese restaurant, called ‘Peko.’ It’s the steak restaurant that provides imported beef from Hokkaido, my wife’s hometown.

TOTO: How did you come to live in Thailand? What do you like in Thailand?

Khun Mariko:	Since 2005, I have been here to learn the Thai language, because my friend’s father lived here. That was the first time that I came to Thailand. I like Thailand, so I stay here. I like Thai food, weather, and fruit.
Khun Parinya:	And Thai people.
Khun Mariko:	In Thailand, everything is easygoing. However, In Japan, it’s quite stressful. Therefore, I feel that Thailand is more suitable for me than Japan.

TOTO: Differences and problems when using the toilet in Thailand and in Japan.

Khun Parinya:	Mainly, they are about dirtiness and bad smell.
Khun Mariko:	It’s totally different from Japan. I’ve cleaned the toilet many times, but the bad smell has not disappeared. The toilet had water stains that were too hard to scrub.
Khun Parinya:	Flushing system doesn’t flush effectively.
Khun Mariko:	We have bought a water-saving toilet, but it has to be flushed several times. This means it doesn’t save water that much. In Japan, we rarely find the same problem. But, in Thailand, when I use the toilet, the flushing system always works ineffectively. Even if we use the toilet in the department store, it has the same problem. So, I don’t want to use the toilet outside.
Khun Parinya:	The rinsing spray is not accurate.
Khun Mariko:	The water pressure is too strong. I have never used it.
Khun Parinya:	Mostly, she uses rinsing spray for cleaning the toilet.
Khun Mariko:	Loud noise. At night, I woke up to go to the toilet. I had to press the flush button several times which caused the loud noise. It bothered my husband. He could not sleep.

TOTO: Please express your feelings after using TOTO WASHLET.

Khun Mariko:	It’s very convenient. Why would not we change this sooner? At first, we wanted to change only the WASHLET seat. However, we decided to change the whole toilet. It is the right decision. Our customers like the restroom so much.
Khun Parinya:	There are many people interested in TOTO WASHLET.
Khun Mariko:	Once, the families came together. Mother has used the toilet. Then, she came back to the table to recommend father to use the toilet.
Khun Parinya:	When using the TOTO toilet, it’s quiet and water-saving.
Khun Mariko:	There is no bad smell.
Khun Parinya:	One flush is enough.

TOTO: What would you like to say to audiences?

Khun Parinya:	If you are considering changing your toilet, it will be better to change. Your life will be more comfortable.
Khun Mariko:	We think that we should change our toilet sooner.
Khun Parinya:	It helps to reduce cleaning, noise, and bad smell. At first, we were hesitant about changing the toilet. After using TOTO WASHLET, it was the right decision. We feel more comfortable.
