TOTO Products won Green Good Design Awards 2023

TOTO LTD. (Headquarters: Kita-Kyushu-shi, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Noriaki Kiyota) has earned the awards at the world-class Green Good Design Awards 2023 for its NEOREST NX/WX/LS/AS/RS, WASHLET G5 and Hand Dryer (suction type). This is the sixth time TOTO has won at the awards, with eight products in total having been recognized to date.

The Green Good Design Awards are an international environment award with the goal of enhancing people’s environmental awareness globally by evaluating excellent environmentally friendly designs that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. The special judges evaluate and present awards to governments, companies, organizations, individuals such as architects and designers, individual products, examples of architecture, and technology. NEOREST NX/WX/LS/AS/RS, WASHLET G5, and Hand Dryer (suction type) were highly acclaimed for their advanced eco-friendly technologies and TOTO’s sincere approach to manufacturing excellent.

TOTO will continue to pursue the fusion of design and technology to introduce products worthy of TOTO name to the world, thereby contributing to the realization of “a sustainable society” and “clean, comfortable, and healthy lifestyles.”

The Green Good Design Awards are prestigious world-class awards recognized alongside the iF Design Award (since 1953) and Red Dot Design Award (since 1955).

NEOREST NX/WX/LS/AS/RS, WASHLET G5

NEOREST Series（NX/WX/LS/AS/RS） are TOTO was top-line series of toilets that strike a balance between ultra-water savings and waste discharge performance while realizing a hygienic and comfortable usage environment. Employing cutting-edge technologies such as tornado flush, CEFIONTECT and EWATER+, TOTO has raised the bar in cleanliness, comfort and environmental performance for toilets around the world. This year marks the 30th anniversary since TOTO launched the first-generation NEOREST on April 1, 1993.

WASHLET G5 is equipped with a host of features such as water savings and matches all kinds of bathroom spaces with a unique and simple shape in which straight and curved lines coexist. Along with advanced cleaning features, the shape eliminates unnecessary irregularities and gaps making it easy to clean.

TORNADO FLUSH

The TORNADO FLUSH features powerful nozzle that create a centrifugal, cyclonic rinsing action which reduces waste buildup and keeps the bowl cleaner with minimum water Waste is thoroughly washed away as the flush hits the back of the bowl where waste sticks easily with powerful water. We also achieved a clean appearance, as the spout cannot be seen from the front of the toilet.

CEFIONTECT

CEFIONTECT is a stain-resistant technology that makes it difficult for stains to adhere and easy to remove by baking a special glass layer on top of the conventional glaze to form a smooth inner surface of the toilet bowl down to the nano-level of one-millionth of a millimeter.

EWATER＋ for under seats

To maintain cleanliness, EWATER+^*3 is sprayed on the easily fouled underneath the toilet seat with each use, to the front edge. This helps suppress urine and other waste from becoming yellow stains, for long-lasting

* 3 : EWATER+ contains a disinfectant [hypochlorous acid] created through the electrolysis of chloride ions in the tap water. Since EWATER returns to being ordinary tap water after several hours, it is environmentally friendly. EWATER+ suppresses the accumulation of grime but does not eliminate the need for cleaning. Bleaching and sanitizing effects are not proven effects in actual use. EWATER+ is not able to disinfect all bacteria.

Hand Dryer [suction type]

Hand Dryer [suction type] is a product installed in public spaces used by an unspecified number of people. In addition to approaches and design considerations that make it usable by all kinds of people, from children and the elderly to those with restricted mobility, TOTO has also given attention to the how it feels to use.

Hand Dryer [suction type] that won this award employs a suction system that sucks in air and water droplets which prevents air from blowing back and suppresses droplet dispersal, and is designed to provide greater comfort and peace of mind during use. It is also equipped with a HEPA filter that collects droplets and other fine particles. The sucked in air is purified through the HEPA filter so that the hands can be dried with clean air.
