DEADLINE STAGE ONE
TOTO (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage organizes an Idea Competition in order to improve the public transit node in the area around the Victory Monument which in this case using the Ratchawithi Island Node as the Project Site, by inviting Shigeru Ban, a renowned Japanese architect as the deciding judge. As everyone knows that Japan is stand out for the country’s orderliness. Japan is a country that highly values the public responsibility and is received admiration for its tidy and excellent management for the public facilities and the proper manners of Japanese people for public places. Anyone could benefit from learning, absorbing, and adopting the Japanese ways.
The chaos and problems of using public places in Thailand still exist almost everywhere in the country. Victory Monument Area is well-known as one of the largest and the most important “Transit Node” in Bangkok, but this place is not well-organized and is quite a chaotic place which cannot function well enough as a public transit node due to the lack of good management. This competition invites and challenges anyone who is interested to design a quality public transit node as a place with quality public facilities to be a convenient, effective, well-managed, and safe place for everyone and which also could help reorganize, encourage, and control the proper manners of our public places' users by any physical design in order to create a sustainable environment and a livable society.

This Competition shall be conducted in two stages as follows:
Submission for shortlist.
Note: Maximum total file size of the 2 boards is 20 MB.

Final judging by Mr. Shigeru Ban using Stage One Submission Materials.
All submission materials shall be in English.
This is anonymous awards selection.
Anonymity should appear in all submission material a., b., c., and d.
The participant making the
submission must have legal rights and copyrights of all the submission materials.
All responsibility for
infringement of the copyrights or intellectual property rights will be borne by the participant; in the case
of such infringement by the awarded project, the award shall be revoked.
The copyright of the design
project belongs to the participant.

In making the submission, the participant shall acknowledge that TOTO (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage shall reserve the rights to retain, exhibit, publish, or reproduce the submission materials without paying any compensation to any person.
All submitted project participants will be informed in writing to collect the submission materials by The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage within a specified time period, after which they will be disposed of.

The awarded designs will be exhibited at KBANK SIAM PIC-GANESHA THEATRE, 7TH FLOOR, SIAM SQUARE ONE on the date of Mr. Shigeru Ban’s Lecture.
